of the month: Charles Williamson
I have spent most of my life in the Akron area and currently live in Stow. I began taking pictures when I was 13. Family members were my favorite subject back then. Now I love photographing birds and nature.
When the pandemic hit and my workplace closed, it gave me the opportunity to take some online photo courses and spend time outdoors improving my camera skills. Nearly every day I ventured out to parks and scenic areas using my camera to capture the beauty of Northeast Ohio.
I enjoy making photo greeting cards and they are sold at Trail Mix, the gift shop of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This past year, I was very proud to win first place in Ohio State University’s Nisonger Center Photo Contest and I just learned that one of my photos was selected for the Summit County Metroparks Amateur Photo Exhibition!
Joining the Akron Camera Club connected me with people who share my same passion for photography. My hope is to continue to improve my technical skills and be an active participant in our club.
